Single Wall

Single Wall cross-linked polyolefin heat shrink products, such as DERAY-I, are used for electrical insulation and strain relief in an endless number of industries and applications. DERAY-I is widely used since it is RoHS compliant and meets the performance requirements of UL and Military.
Although DERAY-I is a prime candidate for almost all applications, some situations demand special requirements for wall thickness, flammability rating or shrink ratio and the following chart will help with selection.

Dual Wall

Dual wall heat shrink tubing is a cross-linked polyolefin tube that is extruded with an inner layer of adhesive. Upon recovery of dual wall heat shrink, the inner layer of adhesive will melt and flow. In the dual wall or adhesive lined heat shrink category, CPA 300 stands out as a product that is well suited for many different applications. The product meets UL 224 and SAE-AMS-DTL-23053/4 standards with the flammability rating applying to the total tube (many products are rated as jacket only). It is also ideal for connector and terminal applications since the CPA adhesive is the strongest in the field for bonding to copper, steel, and polyethylene. The chart below highlights some of the other options available for dual wall products including: shrink ratio, rigidity, and operating temperature.

Medium and Heavy Wall

Medium and heavy wall heat shrink tubing is used in a variety of applications to seal and protect wire and cable connections. For general purpose sealing and cable re-jacketing applications, CFM, a medium wall heat shrinkable tubing is available in expanded tube diameters up to 9.0 inches. Combined with the superior bond of the hot melt adhesive CFM provides a watertight seal to cover the largest application range offered in the industry.

Select the most appropriate product by choosing from the application criteria and thereafter importance between wall thickness, shrink ratio and required standards to meet.
